Canadian WealthTech startup Wealthsimple has raised $610 million (CAD 750 million) in a late stage funding round led by Meritech Capital Partners and Greylock, at a valuation of $4 billion, which is almost 3x of its valuation of the last funding round in October last year. Other investors in Wealthsimple include DST Global, Sagard Holdings, Iconiq, Dragoneer Investment Group, TCV, iNovia Capital, Allianz X, Base 10 Partners, Redpoint, Steadfast, and many others, along with celebrities including actors Ryan Reynolds and Michael J. Fox, rapper Drake, basketball players Kelly Olynyk and Dwight Powell, and ice hockey player Patrick Marleau.The current funding brings the total funds raised by the company to over CAD one billion.
